Lake Louise Canada  Acrylic on canvas 75cm x 65cm

This painting has been reworked from an older version.
Deleted a lot of detail and broke up a few edges and background areas.
This helped to focus attention on the main focal areas.
Painting not available.

Fire and Ice.  Acrylic on 12mm box canvas. 75cm x 35cm

Here is an example of texture and shapes using a variety of paint application and removal techniques.  New Zealand sits on the edge of two tectonic plates which is why we have so many mountain ranges, geothermal, volcanoes and earthquakes in this country.

Karaka Bay with seagull!   acrylic on canvas.

Here is a painting done many moons ago with some tinkering and fixer-upper-ing.
This bay on Great Barrier Island is where I spent 20 years of my working life. Its idylic, captivating and very isolated from city life.  An artists paradise and no mistake.

 Taupo Marina 2021   16 x 20 inches.

A quick sketch of our wee harbour here in Taupo NZ.  I enjoy painting boats, just not going out in them. I liked the different styles represented from older motor launches to the new beasts.  The loose mono chrome background focuses attention on the moored boats, pure and simple.

Slope Point, South Island.  20cm x 20cm  Acrylic on board.

In many places, around the coast, of the most southern points of New Zealand the trees grow at acute angles like this due to the strong prevailing winds.  This looks like a gale is blowing, but it was actually a calm day.  SOLD
