another small 15 x 15cm Nocturn painting.

Another small semi abstracted landscape sketch

Semi Abstract landscape #2

'Landscape in orange and blue'

A small 20 x 12cm painting. Playing with abstracting the landscape

'Fading light'

15 x 15cm semi abstract landscape

'Hidden Things'  60cm x 80cm  Acrylic on canvas.

Although I primarily paint landscapes I occasionally like to paint something with a deeper meaning.  These are visual stories that contain a message.  As the idea developed internally I overpainted and adjusted my concept idea, at one point completely obliterating everything except the girl.  I trust this image speaks, let the viewer understand.

Shakespear Regional Park   1.5m x 0.25m  Acrylic  SOLD

This magnificent scene can be enjoyed from a viewing platform on the high point of this regional park. It is also a working farm and has many tracks and picnic spots.  It was necessary to use two long canvases in order to capture this one small view.

'After the snow'  Desert road central plateau, NZ.  Acrylic 16 x 20 inch.

I have long contemplated a snow picture contrasted with warm ochre grasses.  The mountain in the distance is Mount Ngarahoe, a sharp cone of a mountain similar to Mt Fugi in Japan.

Landscape #1  20 x 20cm  Acrylic on board

I am not really an abstract painter but I like the idea of colour and texture suggesting a landscape. This image came out of a series of small experimental pictures I was playing with recently.  I rather like it.
